Paint Competitions: The Fire and the Wind

I remember taking part in a painting comp. when I was in school. The topic would be given only on the spot and we need to exhibit our skill in painting in a creative manner. It was already told that creativity along with good painting skill would earn us points. I anticipated a topic related to nature and so I had practiced some paintings at home the day before. The topic given to us was ‘windy day’. I did not know what to paint except some trees and houses and withering leaves. I was trying out with it and the given time was one hour. When I ended up my painting, it was only fifteen minutes remaining and I looked back to see most of my friends having drawn in the same pattern as I have done. Accidentally, the red paint which I have kept opened spilled over my painting and I really was about to cry. Suddenly I got a flash. I just redrew it in a short time as if there was a forest fire and the wind blowing, making it spread fast. Yes, it is me who got the first prize in the competition. I’ve since moved on to sell Cuban art prints in my small gallery.
