Business Process Maturity models can be exercised depending on organizational needs. This is the reason why process maturity comes at various levels. With each advanced level, businesses reach their targets. These levels are:

Initial: Here success of an organization depends on the competence and heroics of the people. There is no specified objective or proven process to consider.

Managed: Here the objective is to create project-specific or unit specific foundation.

Standardized: A common process infrastructure is used to achieve consistency in organizational productivity.

Predictable: Here capabilities of organizational process infrastructure and others assets are used to gain predictable results.

Innovating:  This refers to continuous improvement in organizational process.
