Old Goa – the capital of the Portuguese governors of Goa, located 9 km. from the capital city of Panaji Goa (Pandzhima). Old Goa has preserved its rich architectural heritage of the Portuguese pious Catholics; some buildings are unique and are true masterpieces of the late middle Ages. Due to its location Old Goa is a place convenient for day trips for tourists, weary from the sun and the sea for Parties in Goa. This – the largest church of Goa, India, and probably all of Asia. The original design was built of clay, stones and straw in 1510 and dedicated to St. Katherine because on the day of St. Catherine, 25 November, Alfonso de Albuquerque conquered Goa. The building is not just being modified, the second church built in 1515.
