What Happened to My Courtroom Drama?
My friends all shook their heads and said, “too bad” when they heard I had been summoned for jury duty. But I was excited. I just knew I would be chosen for a big case. The defendant would be represented by the best criminal defense attorneys in Los Angeles, who would stage a brilliant show. I appeared up at the appointed time, spent hours waiting, then was selected for a civil case where one man shoved the other, causing him to trip over a garbage can. Three long, long, days and a million details later, we had a verdict. The week after I came back to work a co-worker said she just got a jury summons. I just shook my head sadly.
