I Owe it All to Her Tutor

Thursday, December 24th, 2009

All of my friends told me such horror stories about how hard the common entrance has become that, when it came time for my daughter to take it, I was worried about her. However, I really shouldn’t have been. Not only did she not have any trouble, but even the scholarship level exams were a piece of cake for her. I can’t take any credit, though. I owe it all to the tutoring of her wonderful tutors. They gave her tuition in the types of questions that would be on the exam and the best ways to answer them. When it came time to take the actual test, she was more than prepared. I am so glad that I decided to get her a tutor London rather than just letting her school do the job as my friends did with their children.

Sunday, November 29th, 2009

Nearly all brides have been planning their dream weddings from the time they were little girls. Watch any group of young girls at play, and they will have pretend weddings with their dolls, fake weddings on the playground, and will daydream about the day they stroll down the aisle on the arms of their daddys to their prince charming. But when the day comes to plan your own wedding, don’t let those dreams you’ve always had for your wedding fall flat.

Knowing how to plan a wedding is working on how to plan their dream wedding within the wedding budget that you have available to spend. Don’t be fooled – planning a wedding is tough, but you can do it and wind up stronger in the end.

My Mother’s Funeral

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

When my mother died a few months ago I was devastated.  My father asked me and my sisters to speak at the funeral and of course I said I would.  I was so afraid that I would break down in front of the entire assembly of people.  I had never given a eulogy before, so I looked up example eulogies and found out the basic structure and some tips to help me keep from breaking down.  I still teared up, but I found that by focusing on my mom’s life and the great things that she did I was able to keep it together and get through.

Using A Book Citation Generator, Why Didn’t I Think of This Months Ago?

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

I’ve been working on my final research paper for my senior graduation from college and I’m almost done with it, the only problem was coming up with my footnotes and endnotes. I’ve never been any good at those and to be honest, I was struggling with it while writing the paper itself. My roommate saw my frustration one night and suggested the book citation generator that she uses for her papers. I’d never heard of it before and she showed me how simple it was to use. Why didn’t I know about this months ago when I first started this paper!

October General Conference 2009

Monday, November 9th, 2009

We just had another General Conference and there was a great talk by Elder Oaks. He said that something about real love meaning you don’t support self-destructive behavior. I believe this covered a few areas, but most especially how a family should treat their gay mormon children. You can love them, but you don’t have to invite their significant other over. One family I know, they let their gay mormon son sleep in a room with his boyfriend, but they took the door off. I wouldn’t have allowed that, but they are afraid of losing him. I know how they feel, but their son should understand their standards.

Mormon Soldiers

Sunday, November 8th, 2009

I have been doing some research on war and have come across some surprising information on Mormon soldiers. They are, as a group, upstanding, honorable, and kind people, even in situations of war and destruction, which is how the mormon doctrine teaches them to act. For example, I read that German servicemen actually attended Church services and did what they could to bless the lives of fellow Mormons in other countries, even during World War II. Sometimes they even shared their food rations with the war victims. This is a true example of how virtuous Mormon doctrine teaches its members to be. They have the true love of Christ in their hearts.

Singing Christmas Carols for a Party

Friday, November 6th, 2009

I sang “Angels We Have Heard on High” with a group of mormon women years ago for our ward Christmas party. I laughed when one of my other mormon women friends described this woman’s frequent comments as “backhanded compliments” because I realized that was the perfect way to describe it. She had said to us, “I’m so glad I’m singing with you guys instead of some skinny women because now I don’t feel fat.” I’m surprised her foot ever makes it out of her mouth. Seriously, every time I see her, she says something like this. She told my friend, “I saw you walking down the street but I didn’t think it was you because you looked so skinny.”

Trying to Get Back

Sunday, October 25th, 2009

We got into a fight, my ex and I. It had been a long time coming. Communication is an issue for us. We both have trouble telling each other the complete truth and we let issues that upset us accumulate until it all boils over. I need to figure out the steps to get my ex back. I know that I need to call him. I know that we need to talk things out. I know that we love each other and it is worth any effort. All that I can do is make the effort. If we are meant to be together, we will be.
