Cash For Clunkers
Before I had even heard a lot about the new trade in deals for cars on the news, I was at my local dealership getting a tune up and I overheard the salespeople talking about it with a potential customer. He had to meet certain criteria for turning in his used car in the Cash For Clunkers program and then he could turn around and buy a new car with horrible gas mileage and a marked up sticker price all so that he could participate in the government program. Did this deal really help anyone out except the car dealerships participating?
