Settlement Lump Sum Reduces Debt
My neighbor recently paid off his house, bought a brand new boat, and a new truck to pull it with. I asked him if he had won the lottery or what had changed for him financially. He told me that he had been in an accident a number of years ago and recieve a structured settlement as payout. Recently, he had decided to get completely out of debt and had been thinking about some activities he wanted his family to enjoy together. He realized that if he could sell settlement payments, he would be able to pay off his house, and have a few things he wanted to share with his children before they grew up and moved away. He feels like he made a great choice because he is totally without debt and has some new toys!
